On December 15th, you can be part of an online debate conducted by the European Games Think Tank with the topic “Financing the video games industry”. In this public event, SpielFabrique and Mediadeals will present the results of their research concerning public funding, private funding, banking and financial institutions and professionalization of studios.
From 10:00 am to 03:30 pm (CET), several European video game actors will discuss how the different funding institutions can better collaborate to improve the funding system in the video games industry.
After some welcoming words by representatives of the BMVI, game and SpielFabrique, Stéphane Rappeneau, Programme Manager of Société Générale, will describe challenges of video game funders in his keynote. In the two following panels, different offers of funding and their impact on studios as well as the fusion of private and public funds will be discussed. After another speech on the future of entertainment, the day will be concluded by talking about the structure of the funding ecosystem and the collaboration of public entities and the concept of coproduction.
